I'm a passionate and creative New Media Studies graduate. I have honed my skills through years of training and experience in a variety of roles on short films, podcasts and blogs and have also acted in lead roles in award-winning films. I enjoy writing and creating my own stories and documentaries as I find the visual element of storytelling appealing to me.
This final year project was in the format of a blog, and included a short podcast and documentary piece. The blog explores environmental sustainability within the film and TV industry, but specifically the costume department, which ties in with the unethical practices of fast fashion.
The critical essay which accompanies the Green Glamour Blog, goes into depth about the history of costume and the film industry's costume department. The essay explores how the costume department went from being at the centre of the film studio system, to being a capitalistic and wasteful industry that we now see today.
