Hello! My name is Hannah Khan and I am a 22-year-old designer graduating from IADT this year with a degree in design for stage and screen; Production design.
My passion lies in creating immersive worlds that bring stories to life. Through my training, I have gained expertise in production design, art direction, set decoration, and prop-making. I am dedicated to collaborating with directors, producers, and fellow designers to create visually stunning and cohesive productions. I am excited to continue honing my skills and exploring new opportunities in the industry.
Upstyle is a TV show concept created by Kelly Lane which consists of 6 personalities, 3 pairs of contestants with amateur fashion design skills competing to conceptualise and actualise a new outfit from old and unused clothing that they already have at home. The aim of the show is to promote sustainability and slow fashion as opposed to fast fashion. This was an interesting project for me to design for as usually I am designing a space for a character but this time it was for other designers and creatives to use, so I could at it from what I as a designer would want in this set.
After designing this set I decided to revisit it in my own time to see where else I could take the design if I had had the resources and time to do more with it.
Here is the floor plan and elevations of my updated design, which would include a circular custom bookcase in the centre of the room that would hold fabrics and accessories the contestants may need, which would also double up as an interesting area to film from.
This image is of the area that held all clothes, fabrics and accessories for the contestants to use in their piece, the drawers and suitcases used to store all items.
This area of the set was for the contestants to be able to do a one on one with the camera. where they could say how they thought things were going with their pieces.

High tech area includes. computers, printers, 3d printers, laser cutter and knitting machine.
