Zerica Griffin

Zerica Griffin is a creative artist. She has worked extensively as an SFX makeup artist in Europe's best scare attraction, The NMR. Her passion for creativity and art dates back to her childhood, and her expertise in makeup artistry has led her to work on numerous projects over the past four years and allowed her to travel abroad on makeup jobs. She has excellent knowledge in Script/Character breakdown, Designing, Sculpting, and Prosthetics. She is well-versed in Beauty, Digital/technical work, Fantasy, Facial hair/bald caps, etc. She is highly motivated and dedicated to advancing her professional career.

The tree assumes a vital role in the book, demonstrated through the various signals it sends to other trees. Intrigued by this concept, I delved deeper into the communication network and discovered how trees, In both the book and real life, share the characteristic of communication; inhaling oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide are fundamental aspects of human physiology, This discovery served as a springboard for my design concept, connecting the interdependent relationship between humans and trees. This fed into my idea even more of the tree sucking the life out of the triplets to survive.

I also draw from the intersection of reality and dreamland from humans to mythical creatures, the phycological factor of how children go to fantasy lands, and how this may develop into Escapism and What this could look like over time physically on the human body.

The tree preys on vulnerable children, ensnaring them within its realm and using its inhabitants illustrations shown to lure in new victims. Unknowingly, these children become trapped and are gradually consumed by the tree's insidious influence.

In my literary work, Moonface's fondness for toffee pops led me to incorporate an allergic reaction to the candy in his character. This allergic reaction can manifest in the form of facial swelling, discoloration, and profuse sweating. In addition, Moonface's countenance may become marked with crimson blisters and sores. As a celebrated literary figure, Moonface is recognized for his circular visage that mirrors the moon. However, his allergic reactions to toffee may drastically alter his appearance.

The tree parasitically drains the life force of the triplets in order to sustain itself, absorbing their vitality whenever they return. The development of the triplets' psychological state is a key aspect of this story, exploring the effects of childhood exposure to fantastical worlds. The visual progression of the characters reflects this, with the tree transforming from a withered, weakened entity into a formidable force, while the triplets deteriorate into harrowed, fragile shells of their former selves. In creating these designs, technical research on the physical effects of trauma and addiction was conducted to make these characters more realistic and compelling.

The personas of my tree characters possess distinctive features inspired by the tree itself and an ominous sparkle in their eyes Research and illustrations for fantasy elf ears and the transformation between humans and fantasy.

The tree possesses an alluring power over emotionally fragile children; the once children themselves turned to be creatures of the tree now aid in capturing new prey by leading them to fascinating enchanted realms. However, they remain oblivious to the dangers, which results in the triplets progressively decaying. (measured and sculpted actors ears and made prosthetic elf ears for her)

My ideas for the tree would be almost like a split personality. Since I want my dance performer to have the decaying bark of a tree on her face, I add a veil to cover her true self. As a deviation from the original approach, I created a women's version that exudes control and manipulation and explores the boundaries of fantasy.

A snippet of my minor project - The tempest. My film is a fantastical portrayal of a dreamlike world, inspired by Shakespeare's works, that delves into the impact of nature and the elements on characters in a primitive and harsh environment. While the Viking era serves as an example, I draw from the Norsemen's beliefs, witchcraft, power dynamics, and greed to develop characters and relationships in-depth, as reflected in my comprehensive research.

I Made three individual headpieces for my three goddesses, inspirations by the three primary Norns called - Urðr (Wyrd), Verðandi, and Skuld. Shakespeare's ability to evoke human emotion is a personal inspiration I aimed to replicate in my project.

The Far Away Tree

The Faraway Tree, a tale of three children named Jo, Beth, and Frannie discovering a land filled with ever-changing goodness and challenges, captivated me as a child with its boundless creativity and magic. The book's characters provided vivid inspiration for various make-up ideas and possibilities with their unique backgrounds and personalities. A cherished memory from my youth involved my foster mom reading a chapter of the book each night before bed, fueling my imagination to visualize the lands and characters as I drifted off to sleep. Now years later, I dissected each character's psyche and added my Adaptation, fully immersing myself in their world to spark and inspire creatively as an artist

Gendered and racial stereotypes in Disney animation during the 1930s and 1940s.

In this thesis, They will discuss what America was like during the 1930s and 1940s. They will introduce critical theorists who help understand the racial and gender stereotypes that specific groups of people were exposed to. Then, they will focus on three Disney movies (Snow White (1937), Fantasia (1940), and Dumbo(1941), and examine the gender and racial stereotypes present in them, The Representation of nonwhite femininity in Disney animated films,
The perpetuation of racist and sexist stereotypes in these Disney animated films and how The portrayal of femininity in Disney differs by race.
And Finally, they will conclude by discussing how these stereotypes affected different groups of people at that time.
