In this body of work, the aim is to capture how it feels to be a young person living in Ireland, or specifically Dublin at this current moment. With the struggles that come with the cost of living, high rent and the average age people are leaving the family home being 28, it is hard to imagine any type of future here.
“Cad Anois?”, meaning What Now?, is an interpretation of the uneasiness that the future holds. The aim of these images is to show how it feels to always have one foot out of the door and the uncertainty that contains.

While of course it isn’t all bad, there is a certain warmth and comfort, perhaps a nostalgia that comes with living in the city, but any consideration of a future here, means that fades quickly. The far-fetched dream of a stable future only offering only disillusionment to Bevan’s generation.
