I am a singer, song-writer and composer whose musical interests stem from a myriad of influences. To distinguish a niche, personal musical style, I have been experimenting within genres to further hone and push my vocal ability. Whilst advancing my compositional and song-writing capabilities throughout the process. My compositions combine my ideas and emotions, bringing them to fruition. Conveying the impact of my surroundings, navigating life as a young person with diverse lyrical writing in poetic, comical and heartfelt styles. I aim to establish myself as a producer for future projects, continuing collaborative endeavours, particularly in the live event sector.
Evan - Musician
First to the stage was multilingual singer, songwriter Evan. With fluid lyricism, energetic vocals and catchy guitar strums, it was the ideal start to the evening. Primarily of the Latin/Pop genre, his songs were a mix of culturally inspired and sentimental value. Languages evidently being one of Evan’s passions, this shone through in his performance where we were treated to a dynamic set in four different languages.

Evan also collaborated with multimedia artist Dali in creating individual short poems influenced by their discussion surrounding their personal experiences living in Dublin City.
Dali - Artist
Playing with themes of attachment, fragility and presence, Dali exhibited a myriad of works demonstrating her talents across a multitude of mediums. The focal point of which was a Zine titled Pounding Pavement, created through her efforts to visually capture a map of her existence. Through the mundane routes she travels everyday she assembled a collection of images which were edited to collide seamlessly with a variety of original prose pieces.
Also on display was an array of hand-made wire flowers and a mixed media painting inspired by her immediate surroundings and the tactility of nature.
Norah - Musician
Second to the stage was pianist Norah, in final year of Music at TUDublin Conservatory of Music and Drama. Playing classical pieces performed interpretively, she intrigued the entire room. Beginning with her solo: Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy. Norah changed the energy to a soothing and inviting atmosphere. Followed by the collaboration, she continued with: The Rainbow Comes and Goes by Philip Martin as Deabhan’s short film screened behind her. These two compositions distinctively showcased the honing of her talent since age 11 with such intricate pieces ranging in dynamics and pace. Whilst capturing the focus of the audience with her ability to evoke such intense emotion through her performance.
Luke - Artist
There’s an touch of playful humour to Luke’s artwork. He creates abstract, tongue in cheek pieces, two of which he exhibited for the event. Both pieces are unique and vibrant, the first titled The Long Way and the second TFOTMTB (The Foot of the Mountain Foot Bus). Each was hand drawn initially and then coloured and edited using Adobe Illustrator. He often combines and contrasts natural and industrial elements within his art to create imaginative and inventive final products.
Fionn - Musician
Fib’s set was a smooth transition into the heavier portion of the evening, consisting of both unreleased and released tracks; it was a solid demonstration of his capabilities.
With clearly recognisable Dublin tones throughout his music and a poetic spoken-word quality, his Hip-Hop influenced Rap style is easy on the ear. Inspired by his drumming background he performs to a strong, rhythmic beat.

Deabhan - Artist
Deabhan created a series of mini prints made from recycled paper by taking stills from her short film GRWM, made back in January.
She also collaborated with classical pianist Norah on The Rainbow Comes And Goes. Shot on a camcorder and accompanied by a live score performed by Norah, this short film is a brief exploration of the human experience and the emotions we encounter.
“Life can be full of colours, but it can also be dark. We all experience different colours. It’s about what you can overlook in life but more importantly, what you decide to notice.”
Deabhan’s predilection for using powerful imagery and vibrant primary colours is evident in her work, resulting in striking visual pieces.
Lil - Musician
Ielila J debuted an experimental, multi genre EP, which she performed live on the night to a rapt audience. Created in collaboration with various producers in an attempt to find what genre she feels she belongs to. However, she showed her capability of embodying the essence of many genres. Having had a close affiliation with R&B, Electronic & Techno growing up, you can see their influence peppered throughout her EP. Her lyrics cleverly communicate her own personal experience as a young person in Ireland with themes of societal expectation, the burden of technology, vanity and social media.

Mayka - Artist
Mayka exhibited a collection of untitled drawings and paintings in her distinctive style. Inspired by people around her whom she cares about, she created a series of hyper-realistic oil on canvas panel portraits of her family and friends. In the mixture was a pair of intricately detailed still lifes, drawn with graphite on paper. Mayka’s work has a subtle elegance to it, with the line work and brush strokes blended softly together with each piece lingering with photographic quality. Using a muted monochromatic palette for some of her works and contrasting that with brighter colours in others, ultimately creating a pleasing array of visuals for the viewer. Some of her pieces have a moody, eerie facet to them but she maintains a precise level of delicacy throughout her collection. All of the above characteristics made Mayka’s work for the exhibition easily recognisable and valuable additions to her growing oeuvre.
Mayka also completed a collaboration piece with musician Ielila J, to create a cover for her EP upon its anticipated launch.
Dean - Musician
Audiovisual artist Klobber closed off the evening for us. Showcasing 5 original tracks, his ability to combine various genres/styles into cohesive electronic compositions was acutely represented. Each track flowing together effortlessly to create a uniquely immersive experience. All tracks were self produced, mixed, mastered and performed, showcasing a wide variety of talent amongst musical skills.

Trial & Error 404 - EP Cover Art

The projects objective was to create and debut an exploratory and unique EP, consisting of five songs each made with a different producer. The EP transcended beyond the conventional musical categorisation with a selection of compositions ranging in Lo-Fi, Grunge, R&B, Electro-Alt Pop and UK Garage-Break inspired genres. With emphasis on showcasing a vast vocal range and original lyricism expressing universal human experiences and struggles. Whilst simultaneously executing a mixed music and arts event, with numerous other creatives partaking. The event fostered collaborative, cultural and creative opportunities. Which was achieved by further developing into a small but ever-growing community of creatives and like-minded people.
‘The Combined Impact of Organising, Managing and Collaborating whilst Composing, Producing and Performing for a Mixed Music and Arts Event’
The research explores a multitude of elements within the project. Broken into two main categories; the first being the business-related side. Which encompasses the organisation, management and planning of a mixed music and arts event with Visual Culture student Dali Gallagher from N.C.A.D. The second being the music-related side. Taking into consideration; composition, production and performance for an experimental EP. Whilst the collaboration between music and art intertwining within both categories is highlighted throughout the research.
The research discusses various perspectives to ensure the optimal approach, method and execution of all aspects of the project. Covering angles such as; a foundation in the history of the arts in Ireland, creative festival and events management, the connection of music and art outlining the importance of interdependence, the encouragement of the chosen theme, a similar themed art exhibition, independent music production, an influential song and music psychology regarding the listeners and audience perception. Compartmentalising these perspectives and then combining them, all helped achieve the end goal.
The aim for the project was to provide a platform and opportunity, for creatives with immense talent who have not yet had an adequate chance to showcase it. Bridging a gap of exclusivity, lack of opportunity and collaboration within the cultural, creative scene in Ireland. Resulting in the project establishing a small community that is yearning to grow. The researchers foreseeable future aims to foster a continual and authentic event scheme genuinely passionate about the matter and the official release of the EP during the summer.
